January 2024 Newsletter

“You know you’ve had a good year if . . .”

We could answer that in ways a lot of companies answer it, and say it was a good year. For instance, many months this past year we broke company financial records, and at the same time kept our streak of making a profit for over 30+ years.

But as I look back over the past year, I don’t think we simply had a good year. No, I think we had a great year, especially when we use different metrics. We were able to make two missions trips to Guatemala to encourage (and be encouraged by) the great work we support down there at Puerto de Esperanza. We funded a well in Chad, Africa with our partners at NeverThirst, delivering clean drinking water to a desperate community in need, and reinforced the impact of believers there offering an even better thirst quencher, the Living Water of Jesus. We provided an amazing family in our community with a new air conditioning system (and so much more) through our Comfort & Joy initiative. We were able to provide some help to some of our employees, in the form of counseling, financial assistance, and other means as they encountered some challenging paths on a personal level. We added a number of new employees that align with our values and mission, and healthy relationships have been established that have made a difference in our workplace. We remodeled the kitchen, and have added some newer vehicles to our fleet to accommodate our growing field staff. We became certified by the state of Florida for secondary education Vo-Tech which allows AVA to do training in our facilities. We increased our Compelled To Tell and Net Promoter Scores over the past year, and keep trending in the right direction with our memberships. We’ve had weddings, babies, and grand babies added into the mix. Oh, and a few new pets as well.

So I would say we had a great year. And as we lean into this new year together, let us do it with a humble thankfulness for all God did this past year, and an expectant hope of all He has in store for us in the coming year.

We’re well on our way towards funding our second well in Chad Africa in our partnership with NeverThirst. Our commitment is to give proportionately to the number of installs and service calls we make each month, so the more we work together to build efficiency and productivity in our work, the quicker we are able to make an impact in yet another community that desperately needs our help. If you want to personally give to join in what we are already giving as a company, click on this link to make that happen or to simply find out how we’re doing on our process. This is truly an investment in the eternal!

We shared a resource with you last week to help you prepare for the new year. It’s called the Dream Guide by Jennie Allen, a simple tool to help you celebrate what is, grieve what was, and look for what could be. It isn’t complicated, but it helps slow you down enough to think, to plan, and lean in towards the deeper things of the heart, which unfortunately evade our grasp way too often.

So request it here and they will send it to you. Print it out, turn off the TV, light some candles and curl up on your favorite couch or chair, get your beverage of choice, and give yourself the gift of intentionality this coming year. It’ll be a gift that keeps giving over and over to everyone around you as well.

Happy New Year!

“I don’t do reviews on these public pages, However, I would like to compliment Angel. My husband worked with Angel and said he was extremely considerate & did a great job. I was asleep in another room & Angel made sure he was extra quiet, spoke in a low voice & closed doors gently so as not to wake me. This was so considerate & appreciated! Thank you very much, Angel!”

”I am thrilled with Casey. I have lived in Sarasota for 31 years and have never had any kind of service person like him. I am requesting Casey for all of my future maintenances.”

I want to thank you for sending out 3 wonderful technicians this year in Robert, Ruslan, & Ryan. They all helped me and explained everything to me, were very nice, and went out of their way for me.
