Billy Blurb
The Super Bowl is the big event. And winning it is the ultimate in sports.
You only get into the Super Bowl because you’ve been beating the best of the best. But if you don’t win it, you’re automatically known as a loser. Losing stinks, even if you’ve been winning all along to get into the Super Bowl. A win/win is getting to the superbowl, and then winning it.
I feel like we are Super Bowl caliber every year, but there are certain things that can happen that create a losing situation. And we hate to lose.
For example, a lose/lose/lose situation is an accident or injury. It’s a loss for the employee, a loss for the company, and also a loss for the customer. So how do we avoid the loss in all this? We need to be extremely aware of the potential dangers that we encounter every single day, and often multiple times of every single day.
What are some of those dangers? Driving (especially right now in the season), lifting with your back, setting up and climbing up ladders, handling sharp edges, trying to break a bolt loose, flying debris, loose and unmaintained tools, kneeling on hard objects, giving inaccurate information, and the list goes on. All of these are actions that can lead to us losing if not done properly.
So how do we win? Going back to the basics. Look both ways when pulling out into traffic, and back in when you’re parking. Ask for help when something is heavier than you should move by yourself. Ensure that ladders are grounded, extended properly, and latched effectively. Wear gloves when handling sharp objects. Wear eye protection, and use the right tools. Check your numbers and information before sending an email. And this list goes on as long as the things that can go wrong. Just catch it on the front side, and help us win.
So when you watch the Super Bowl this Sunday or hear it talked about the days after, let it serve as a reminder of what contributes to us being a winning team. It takes all of us doing our part for the greater win!
Benefits Highlight

A perk you may not be aware of is that Tri County Air will help parents with Registration Fees up to $250 each year, per child, to help in covering the costs for their participation in athletics, or even the arts and sciences. This was an important part of Billy’s development as a child growing up in a single parent home, and it made such a difference to have other mentors and coaches in his life, that he wants to invest into your kids as well towards that same end. Reach out to Rich Hart and Comfort Care to take advantage of this great benefit.

We also provide a YouFit Gym Membership for all employees to give you the chance to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle, which you’re especially going to need if you take advantage of the Registration Fees for your kids in sports, because it can get pretty tiring running up and down the sidelines yelling at, um, yelling for your kids! Again, reach out to Rich Hart at Comfort Care if you’re interested in starting this. We simply ask that if you get it, you actually use it. What is that saying about good intentions?!?
Invest In The Eternal
Did you know that we are all part of something bigger than us simply making people in southwest Florida feel comfortable in their homes and businesses? Much bigger! Every single time we perform an install, a maintenance, or a service to a customer, we contribute towards nonprofits and ministries around the world that are making an impact in communities and lives that have a lot more pressing issues than whether their air conditioning is working or not. In fact, many of the places we focus on don’t even have air conditioning as a regular part of their lives, if at all. Places like Guatemala where we sponsor 40 kids through Children’s Hope Chest in desperate need of mentoring, nutrition, and basic life skills and academics. Or Mercy Ships, which has focused on providing life-changing surgeries from their hospital ships as well as strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in the underdeveloped nations of the world. We also support the International Justice Mission, which partners with local justice systems around the world to build safe communities, where all are protected from violence and slavery. They accomplish this by strengthening justice systems, bringing criminals to justice, and rescuing and restoring victims. And don’t forget about our partnership with NeverThirst, where we have already participated in three tap stands that provides clean water for communities in Chad, Africa. We are well underway in funding our fourth one, which you can track or contribute to here. So “Invest In The Eternal” is not merely a slogan we throw around lightly. It is something we do, every day, affecting eternity in the lives of others. And you play a part of that. Thank you for your participation. You are making a difference!

We get to celebrate some very special people through their birthday and work anniversaries. Give these people affirmation and encouragement as they mark these special milestones.

From The Hart

Barbie & I got to go to a concert in Orlando a couple weeks ago. It is one of our favorite bands that we love to sing along to at the top of our lungs, often off-key, and often forgetting the words, but we don’t care, because it’s a lot of fun. And the reason it’s a lot of fun, is because they are a lot of fun. It’s not one of those bands that tries to impress you (even though they are really good), or try to set new clothing trends, or that you’ll read about in the news because they broke the law or got thrown out of a place for being entitled. No, they’re just a fun group, and we feel happy when we’re with them. And so were 250 other people that night, also singing at the top of their lungs in a let-loose, who-cares kind of way.
And as I think about it, I realize that it reminds me of what it’s like coming to work here at Tri County Air. We are all a bunch of people having fun. I love the laughter that comes barreling down the halls throughout the day, or from the warehouse, or the job sites I’ve gotten to visit. While we are really good at what we do around here as a company, we’re having a lot of fun doing it. We are not primarily concerned about impressing each other in our responsibilities and tasks, though I think we do. And it’s not that we’re only about having fun, I mean, we do have jobs to get done. But this is a fun place to work, and we share a sense of community here at work that I think most businesses don’t have. You can’t fake it either, you either have it or you don’t. So that’s why I made the connection between the concert we went to, and the work we go to. And while you won’t hear me singing at the top of my lungs down the hall, you will hear me bragging about you, my coworkers, and that we have a lot of fun doing what we do.
So thank you for what you do to make this place what it is. And if you need a soundtrack to go with it, feel free to listen to some songs from the band we so enjoy, The Strumbellas, wherever you download or stream your music from.
