Puerta de Esperanza Update September, 2024

We want to express our sincere gratitude for your continued prayers, support, and commitment to empower vulnerable communities in Guatemala. Your investment has made a tremendous difference in the lives of children and families

Food donation
We are very grateful to keep supporting our children with daily meals. Also we received a donation of groceries, green beans and fruits for the families, which were a great blessing for them.

Medical care
Students from a local university have been supporting us with medical and psychological care and training, teaching us the tools for better care and interaction with families.

Visits
Our friends from Core Community Church visited us, and for us it is always a very special time, we shared wonderful moments, prayed together, and we are grateful with them for the work that they are doing for our children, they are such a great blessing for us.

Boxing classes
Our CarePoint received an invitation from the city hall to have the support of a boxing coach. Many of our children are very interested to practice this sport. They are having the boxing classes on Fridays, also they enjoy the sports afternoons in a park near to the CarePoint. The children really enjoy this time and they have a lot of fun.

School Reinforcement

We continue working in the school reinforcement in La Terminal and Gerona, the children are attending to do their homework, play games, do devotionals, and learn new things to improve their development.

Mathematics Workshop in Gerona
A group of volunteers visited Gerona, gave an interactive Mathematics workshop giving tools so that children can solve the difficulties of the subject in an easier and more fun way. In Guatemala we had the book fair, called FILGUA, and a group of children attended with the teachers to be able to bring their world closer to new spaces for growth.

Visit to the Zoo
We had the opportunity to visit the zoo with the children from the program in Gerona. For many of them it was their first time at the zoo, they enjoyed this day. It is very valuable for our children to have these opportunities to be able to show them spaces outside their community that help them greatly to improve their knowledge. We are very grateful, and we are sure that it was an unforgettable experience for our children.

Reforesting Purula
For two months, the group of PRONEA and some adolescents from the school reinforcement were part of the ‘Ecological Guardians workshop’, to learn more about how to take care of the environment and how important is our contribution. At the end of this workshop, we took a trip to a place called Purula to participate in the reforestation activity.

Thank you so much for all your support, and your prayers for all of us. We are thankful to have you in our lives. Thanks for helping our CarePoint.
